Padraig Meets Leo

The launch of the "Mind Your Hearing" initiative took place recently at Trinity College, Dublin hosted by Ronan Collins. Special guest was Minister Leo Varadkar T.D. who welcomed this new initiative which seeks to promote good hearing health and early action on hearing loss.

Mr Padraig MacGinty, MISHAA & FSHAA, registrar of ISHAA (Irish Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists), and owner of North West Hearing & Mobility, Letterkenny and Sligo Hearing Centre, Sligo said "those experiencing the inital signs of hearing loss sometimes tend to delay making an appointment which may over time cause further issues however our hearing assessment is free and we offer home trials of hearing aids in many cases"

Mr MacGinty explained that there are grants available to cover the cost and hearing aids are customised to each customer, "every customer is different so our audiologists take the time to work through the selection and fitting proces, hearing aids are so small now that they've become next to invisible. Our audiologists are experienced and have specifically trained to attain the highest industry qualifications"
